MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Transportation Security Administration stopped a passenger from bringing a loaded gun onto a plane at the Memphis International Airport.
The passenger had the loaded Smith & Wesson 9mm in a carry-on bag when going through the security checkpoint at about 6 a.m. Wednesday, according to a TSA spokesman.
The TSA found the weapon and notified airport police.
The passenger was cited on a state charge, according to the TSA.
The TSA is reminding passengers to always search luggage thoroughly before flying to make sure they do not have any prohibited items.
