BLYTHEVILLE, Ark. — A 2-year-old has drowned in a swimming pool in Blytheville.
The child was at a birthday party in the Half Moon area of the city, Maj. Larry Robinson with the Mississippi County Sheriff’s Department said.
The kids at the party were swimming and then got out of the pool, but investigators believe the 2-year-old never got out. People at the party thought he had walked away, so they reported him missing.
A Blytheville Police K-9 found the toddler in the pool, and he was transported to Great River Medical Center. Sadly, he died at the hospital, Robinson said.
