MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A grandmother with a message.

“Dallen, we know what you been through and we are here. We are trying to get you. We are looking for you. We are fighting for you,” said Sonya Clayton.

Clayton said she hasn’t seen her grandson since the horrifying events of last Friday.

According to police,  7-year-old Dallen was the oldest child inside the apartment when his mother, Shanynthia Gardner, allegedly went on the attack, stabbing and killing four of her young kids.

All of the children were younger than 5-years-old.

“Horrible, horrific, unbearable. It seems unreal,” said Clayton.

Dallen was the one who ran and got help, telling an adult nearby his mom stabbed his sister.

We would later learn Gardner admitted to investigators she called her current husband and told him what she did.

WREG was told Dallen has a different father than the rest of the kids.

His dad, Detrail Clayton, has even gone on Facebook writing “Dallen daddy looking for you. Everyone please share this picture and my son to me.”

“Haven’t seen him, talked to him. Don’t know what his mindset is, how he is looking. Don’t know anything,” said Clayton.

Detrail’s mother said her son has been kept away from Dallen since Friday’s stabbings and she claims long before that too.

We asked if he was allowed to see his son before Gardner got married.

“Yes. Yes he was. Then she changed after that,” said Clayton.

Clayton told us her son has custody of his other kids and wants Dallen too, but so far they have not been allowed to see him.

“Really bad. My son is really tore up,” she said.

Clayton said her son and Gardner met when they were in grade school and grew up together.

They were never married and Dallen was their only child together.

As of now, the Claytons have not heard from anyone about when or if they will get to see the 7-year-old.

They also aren’t sure where he is located right now.
