MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Nathan Bedford Forrest statue in Health Sciences Park has been vandalized.

Someone spray painted “Black Lives Matter” on the base of the statue.

Police investigators called it a crime scene.

This isn’t the first time the Confederate statue has been targeted by vandals. It’s been defaced several times, including another instance of painting “Black Lives Matter.”

The statue was cleaned by noon Saturday, and police set up a SkyCop camera close by.

Police do not have any information on a suspect.
