MEMPHIS, Tenn. — We’ve seen people march. We’ve seen people chant.

At times their messages clash.

But Williams Young, organizer of the Black Lives Matter Memphis chapter, said his group has never wavered in its mission.

“We want to raise awareness about unarmed black victims of police brutality and excessive force.”

He said he’s not condemning all police officers, but said too many black lives are being lost.

“We accept all black lives and we affirm all black lives.”

Frank Gottie told WREG he has a different approach.

He wants to focus on all lives.

“They say, `okay, the white people criticizing us.` They might stop criticizing us if y`all include them.”
