The weather looks to be cooperating with Mother’s Day…so far. Today’s forecast will be quite similar to yesterdays with additional storm chances this afternoon and evening across the News Channel 3 viewing area as a cold front approaches. Any isolated thunderstorms that do develop have the potential to produce brief intense rainfall and damaging winds.

Mother’s Day: Patchy fog this morning. A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 90. West southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the afternoon.

Tonight: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between midnight and 3am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 70.

Monday: A slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 10am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 89. Calm wind becoming northwest around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 50%

The beginning of the work week will feel like typical summer weather with scattered daily rain chances and temperatures in the 80s. Friday looks the most likely for more widespread thunderstorm activity.
