MEMPHIS, Tenn. — WREG has learned more on the search for a permanent police director. We talked with Mayor Jim Strickland on Friday who confirmed he has officially interviewed all six recommended candidates. The mayor said he is still on target to name a director by the end of August, which he promised back in July. The news comes just a couple weeks after Mayor Strickland released the names of the final six candidates to the public. After making a selection, the City Council will have to approve the appointment. The city also released a small biography on each candidate along with their resumes.
