JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A crash on an interstate killed a Jacksonville teenager, but she will live on through organ donation, WJAX reports.
Danielle House, 17, was killed Wednesday. Her father, who was driving, is on life support.
Before she died, House decided to be an organ donor.
Now that decision could save the lives of up to seven people, her doctors said.
“She was wonderful in life. She is wonderful in death,” House’s aunt Michelle Turner said.
Turner said House made the decision on her own to be a donor.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
Witnesses said right before the crash, something came off or went under the truck the dad was driving. He lost control of the vehicle and drove into oncoming traffic, according to the FHP.
The crash report shows the two were not wearing seat belts.
Though House may be able to save seven lives, her life may not have had to have been taken in the first place.
“Wear your seat belt, it saves lives,” Turner said said.
A GoFundMe page is set up to raise funeral expenses.
