DYERSBURG, Tenn. — Dyersburg Intermediate School said police were called Tuesday afternoon after a stranger was reported in trees outside the school.

According to WBBJ, two teachers said the unknown person was dressed as a clown.

The teachers told police the person had a white face and was wearing a bright red wig, a red nose, a yellow T-shirt and dark pants.

The school was placed on lockdown while officers searched the area, WBBJ reported. Police did not find any clowns.

The person did not make contact with anyone at the school, according to Dyersburg Intermediate School.

Police are investigating the incident.
