Memphis 03/02/2012— Some of those waiting for their tax refunds from Mo’ Money Taxes may have a longer wait ahead of them. One of the companies helping to prepare tax refunds for Mo’ Money has quit.
This comes in the middle of the busy tax season. Advent, A Kansas City based tax processor, works as a middle man between a tax preparer, like Mo Money, and the IRS.
Advent claims it decided to sever ties with Mo’ Money this year because Mo’ Money shared business with another tax processor, not because of the ongoing controversy.
Here’s what it means for Mo’ Money customers still waiting on their refund check:
– If Mo’ Money had your paperwork processed through Advent, Advent says, they still have your information and will send your refund check.
That’s just one secenario.
-If Advent received your refund check from the IRS, but the company didn’t process your paperwork, they say there is no way to know where to send your check. In those cases, the refund check will be sent back to the IRS.Advent tells News Channel 3, you would have to call the IRS to figure out how to receive your tax refund.
News Channel 3 stopped by Mo’ Money’s main office Friday, but worker ignored our knocks at the door, covering their faces and just walking away. We also reached out to the owner who was not available.
