MEMPHIS, Tenn. — One of the biggest stories this week affecting us and many of you this week was the retirement of WREG’s Claudia Barr.

This past Wednesday was Claudia’s last newscast of her 40-year career in radio and television. In a business where people can move around a lot, Claudia was a rare find. She’s home grown. She lived and breathed what it was like to live in Memphis during the Civil Rights era, marching with Dr. King. The struggles are what helped guide her to a career in broadcast journalism.
