(Memphis) Just a week after Mo’ Money Co-Founder Markey Granberry told us he was selling the business, the company finds itself in the midst of another lawsuit, this time in federal court.
WREG On Your Side Investigators discovered that Value Bank of Texas is suing Mo’ Money, EM-Tax Software, UP2U, the IRS, and the state of Illinois.
Value Bank is where a number of refunds were deposited during tax season. The bank’s attorney says all of the parties named in the suit have been trying to access more than a million dollars that was still in the bank.
Value Bank says everyone has a different story and they want a judge to sort it out. The suit was originally filed in state court in Texas, but attorneys representing the IRS had it removed to federal court.
