(Farmington, MS) Investigators in Alcorn County, MS are investigating the death of a man last night and the attempted murder of his son as an attempted murder/suicide.
It happened in an apartment on County Road 200.
The Alcorn County coroner told News Channel 3 the father, Billy Loyd Jr., is dead.
The son, Andrew, was reportedly shot three times and is in a Memphis hospital in critical condition.
Police say there is good evidence Loyd Jr., is behind the shootings of himself and his son.
There was a stand-off between Loyd Jr., and police in April. He was taken to a mental hospital after that incident and later released.
