MEMPHIS, Tenn. — MPD detectives are looking for suspects following a pair of shootings that left one person dead and sent two others to the hospital.

The first shooting happened around 12:40 a.m. Tuesday in the 1200 block of College Street in South Memphis.

According to the report, Marico Johnson and Tammy Young were injured in the shooting. Johnson and a witness were on the porch when three to four suspects come from the south and opened fire.

Police found Johnson in the alleyway with several gunshot wounds.

Another witness told police that he and Young were in a car in the driveway of the College Street home to buy marijuana when the shooting happened, but that he left the scene to take young to the hospital.

Young was shot in the left knee and right arm.

Police found 15 to 20 shell casings around the porch and a few cars.

No description of the suspects was given. Police are looking for four suspects who were last seen running down Trigg Ave.

The second shooting happened around 2 a.m. on Bickford Avenue in the Uptown area.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found the victim lying in the middle of the street. He was pronounced dead by paramedics.

So far, police haven’t identified any suspects in this case.
