HERNANDO, Miss. — Hernando Police along with DeSoto County and Southaven authorities say they captured two suspects who led them on a brief chase before bailing out of a truck near Interstate 55 at Mount Pleasant Road.

Hernando Police identified the suspects as Agandus Osburn and Antonio Jackson.

Hernando schools were placed in a “safe mode” as police searched for the suspects after they bailed out of a stolen truck during a chase.

Authorities had used stop sticks to stop the truck.

One was captured with the help of a K-9 unit, and the other was caught later while he was walking along I-55, Hernando Police said.

Hernando schools said Tuesday afternoon that students would be dismissed as usual.

“We locked the exterior doors to our Hernando schools as a precautionary measure and outdoor activities were postponed, but students still had normal school day routines in the classroom,” said Katherine Nelson, communications director for DeSoto County Schools, in a statement.

“We have been given clearance by the Hernando Police Department to have a regular dismissal at all of our schools. All schools will be following normal safety procedures for the rest of the day, and normal dismissal procedures will be followed this afternoon.”
