  • Mo’ Money was evicted from office on Elvis Presley for non-payment of rent.
  • Some customers continue to wait for refunds.

(Memphis)  It looks like business as usual at the Mo’ Money on Austin Peay Highway in Memphis.  A sign reads the office is open and there’s a receptionist at the front, but she won’t let us in.

Who knows how much longer Mo’ Money will occupy the space. A detainer warrant shows the company owns more than $12,000 in rent. It was filed in late February along with two others for the Mo’ Money locations on Winchester and Summer Avenue.

The plantiffs’ attorney confirms it’s for non payment of rent. Court records show a total amount of more than $37,000. This isn’t the first case of its kind against Mo’ Money.

WREG On Your Side Investigators were first to tell you about the company getting evicted from its office on Elvis Presley. The attorney in that case says Mo’ Money was behind on rent more than five months, and still owes some $15,000.

It was also at the Elvis Presley office that we found dozens of dumped, tax documents. Police responded and eventually turned information over to federal investigators.  Mo’ Money Co-Founder Markey Granberry could not be reached for comment.
