HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss — Police arrested a man in the deadly shooting that occurred in Holly Springs, MS Tuesday night.
Thaddeus Scales was charged with murder for the death of 51-year-old Charles Matthews after making a confession to the Holly Springs Police Department.
According to reports, officers responded to the shooting in the area of Center Street and Falconer around 8 p.m.
Upon arrival officers located Matthews lying in the street outside of his truck with apparent gunshot wounds.
The victim was pronounced dead after paramedics arrived on the scene to try and save his life.
It is being reported that there was an altercation between the two men before shots were fired.
Officers reported seeing a gray Nissan Altima was seeing fleeing the area at a high speed.
Scales was charged with murder and is now being held in the Marshall County Jail.
