MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A car exploded Tuesday morning after it hit a landscape truck near Houston Levee and Glen Lakes, and the driver is now in in jail.

A witness on the scene reported seeing a silver car explode. Two people escaped the vehicle after the crash, but one of the occupants was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the landscape truck has no injuries.

A gun was found in the silver car.

The woman driving that silver car is now in jail. The sheriff’s office says she was arrested for outstanding warrants.

She’s also facing additional charges for intentionally crashing into that truck. Investigators have not said what her motive may have been for running into the truck.

All lanes on Houston Levee are back open following the accident.
