(Silver Spring, MD) Many of you take 5-hour energy, the highly caffeinated energy shot.
But could it be deadly?
Reports of 13 deaths over the last four years have cited 5-hour energy as a contributing factor because of the effects the shot could have on the heart and body due to its high caffeine content.
Along with the deaths, other serious injuries included heart attacks and convulsions.
Just last month, five deaths attributed Monster energy drinks as a possible factor.
The FDA says these filings don’t necessarily mean the product was responsible for the deaths, but is investigating.
