 MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police are trying to sort out exactly what happened that led to two people being shot in North Memphis.

Initial reports indicate one of the victims was shot coming out of the Chelsea Express near the corner of Chelsea and University early Friday morning.  A witness drove the victim to another gas station on Hollywood and Chelsea, but then returned to the crime scene to wait for police.

He was taken to the Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

A second victim was found in the Lil Bob’s parking lot. He told police he was asleep in his car and didn’t even know he had been shot. That victim is expected to be okay.

Police have one person detained.

A motive for the shooting has not been released.
