MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A suspect is in custody following a deadly shooting in Whitehaven.
Jarvis Miller was booked overnight on second-degree murder charges after police say he shot and killed Joshua Threatt as he was sitting in his car at the Mill Creek Apartments near Millbranch and Shelby Drive.
The shooting happened just before 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Miller reportedly stayed on the scene. He admitted to shooting Threatt following an argument, but stated the victim reached for a weapon and he shot him in self defense.
No such weapon was found in the car.
The 33-year-old was arrested and taken to the Shelby County Jail.
