MOBILE, Ala. — An Alabama man accused of assaulting a Tennessee state trooper has been captured after three days on the run.
Al.com reports that 31-year-old Joseph Ray Perkins was taken into custody Monday in Mobile County. Details of the capture were not immediately released.
Perkins, who lives in Vance, Alabama, was initially arrested Thursday night by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Police Capt. Brad Mason says Perkins was taken into custody because he had a car that had been stolen from Tuscaloosa.
Authorities say Perkins assaulted a state trooper early Friday at a jail in Williamson County, Tennessee, and then fled. He was named to the Tennessee Highway Patrol’s Top 10 Most Wanted list.
It was not immediately clear whether Perkins is represented by an attorney.
