For now Suburban Schools are on hold.  But, people living in Shelby County’s suburbs are still paying higher sales taxes for them!  Voters in all six suburbs approved raising the sales tax rate to the maximum 9.75% to bring in more money for schools.  Germantown Mayor Sharon Goldsworthy says there’s no need to try to lower those taxes now.  By law at least half of that money must be used for schools.  We’re told it will be to pay legal fees in the school fight.
