MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police were called to southeast Memphis overnight following a drive-by shooting that left at least one person injured.

According to authorities, the incident happened at Shelby Drive and Riverdale just before 11 p.m. Sunday night.

When first responders got there, they located an abandoned GMC Yukon with several bullet holes in the back of the vehicle.

The victims eventually approached officers and stated they were in the area when a sedan approached them and began shooting into the vehicle. One man who WREG spoke with said he heard from several of the victims that eight to 10 shots were fired.

One man was struck in the arm and taken to the hospital by private vehicle. He’s expected to be okay.

Officers said there were five victims in the car at the time.

So far, no one is in custody.
