(Memphis) A Memphis police officer who was off duty with pay then reinstated is once again off duty with pay.

That officer is Terrance Shaw, who shot and killed a 15-year-old boy in September.

Shaw said the shooting was in self-defense.

We have now learned he’s off the job again on administrative leave regarding a different matter.

Shaw was put behind a desk earlier this week while the investigation into the shooting continued.

Memphis Police Director Toney Armstrong was not aware Shaw had been reinstated until we told him. Mayor Wharton was also not aware and has initiated an inquiry.

This Letter To Mayor Wharton Regarding Officer Shaw explained why the officer was reinstated.
