MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police are looking into a suspicious fire in Frayser after a man was found dead inside of a burned home on Dawn Drive Sunday morning.

Police haven’t released the name of the victim. But they believe someone may have set the home on fire.

Investigators were on the scene at least six hours. They had most of the street blocked off.

Loved ones held each other in mourning as others looked at the damage and carried belongings out. Some even held pictures as they salvaged heartfelt memories.

Neighbors told us they saw the victim as recent as Saturday working on a car in his driveway.

They say he lived in the home with his nephew.

“My neighbor told me he seen smoke coming out of the window. He immediately called 911,” a neighbor said. “It’s just sad.”

Memphis Police tell us this isn’t just an accidental fire. They’re investigating it as a homicide.

For their safety, neighbors are hoping detectives quickly find answers.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at (901)-528-CASH.
