MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis police are working to determine what led to the deaths of two people who were shot, then involved in a wreck in North Memphis.
Officers were called to a crash around 11 Thursday at the intersection of Jackson and Springdale.
Two people were found injured. Both were rushed to the Regional Medical Center where they died.
Police said both victims had been shot prior to the wreck. However, it was not known whether they were killed by the shooting or the crash.
“This is sad. It’s unpredictable,” Donald Taylor said. He’s lived in the neighborhood for 54 years and says crime like this doesn’t happen.
“This world that we live in just going crazy,” resident Ivery Avery said.
Police believe both victims had been targeted in the shooting, and it was not a random incident.
The suspects were possibly in a brown or tan car, police said.
