MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police are looking for two men who allegedly carjacked a 74-year-old man outside a Raleigh restaurant Sunday afternoon.

The victim, Tommy Storey, was leaving Exline Pizza on Austin Peay when the incident happened.

Kendall Holloway has lived across the street from him for 10 years.

“He’s a real good guy,” Holloway says.

Police say Storey was getting into his car when two men came up from behind, hit him in the head and knocked him out. One of the suspects went through his pockets and stole his car keys and $200.

“Just trying to get you something to eat and this happen to you unexpectedly,” Holloway says.

One of the men drove off in Storey’s car. The other was caught on surveillance video leaving on foot.

“Just come to think about it, they could have killed Tom,” Holloway says.

Thankfully, he’s okay. He told us so on Wednesday afternoon, but he didn’t want to say anything else about himself or the incident.

“He be a home body. A retired veteran,” Holloway says.

Holloway says Storey only goes to a handful of places. Exline is one of them.

“He was probably going to get something for his wife to eat for dinner,” Holloway says.

All the employees love him. They call him Mr. Tom.

Police found his car overturned on New Allen, near Egypt Central yesterday. A witness says two men got out and got a ride with someone driving by. It’s unclear if they’re the same two men who allegedly attacked Storey.

Holloway wants the men who carjacked Storey to face justice. He can’t believe anyone would hurt such a kind man.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (901)-528-CASH.
