(Dyersburg, TN) Fred’s Super Dollar in Dyersburg may not look like it, but this is the scene of a pretty great Christmas story.

Two anonymous shoppers stopped by and asked to pay the layaway bills for thirty families in danger of losing their items because they couldn’t pay.

“The spirit of Christmas just seemed like it wasn’t there like it used to be,” said Secret Santa recipient Joyce Mathis.

But the Secret Santas changed her mind.

She says she found out about the gift when she went to tell the manager she had to cancel the order for her grandchildren and son because she couldn’t pay for it.

Now she is grateful they will have something to open Christmas morning.

“We greatly appreciate it and we wouldn’t have been able to have Christmas without him,” said Mathis.

Chris Parker says she also opened her pocketbook at Fred’s this Christmas to help a family out.

“There’s somebody out there that needs just a little love.  And It’s just a tiny $20 toy for some boy or girl,” said Parker.

Stories like this inspire Tommie Goins to give to others.

“That’s what God would want us to do, share.  God would want someone to be kind to someone else.  We’re supposed to love each other. That’s what neighbors are for, loving each other,” said Goins.
