MARTIN, Tenn. — A Tennessee man has been charged with first-degree murder in the stabbing death of a University of Tennessee student who previously accused him of physical and sexual abuse.
Tony Markee Mosley, 31, was arrested Sunday in Memphis.
Authorities have said deputies were called to Mosley’s home May 11 and found 20-year-old Decora Alexander stabbed to death. They said Mosley also suffered multiple stab wounds and was treated at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.
Mosley was transferred to Regional One Medical Center in Memphis. His neck is still heavily bandaged in photos.
Court records detail a volatile past between the pair, painting Mosley as obsessive.
In May of 2018, Alexander filed a report with police claiming Mosley, by then her ex-boyfriend, assaulted her in a car. She told police he punched her in the head and chest. Officers were able to see the marks left behind.
In a final, chilling line in the report, an officer wrote, “Alexander is also scared of Mosley and what he might do to her.”
Following that incident she then went to get an order of protection.
Then just a month after that incident, Alexander showed up at the police station, saying Mosley was violating an order of protection.
The details in her account to police showed numerous messages he was sending her on Facebook and repeatedly calling her. Mosley was trying to bribe her, attempting to get her to drop the order of protection so he could see her. He went as far as sending her pictures of large amounts of cash, saying he would give her $1,000 up front and $3,000 later if she dropped the order.
Alexander said she changed her number to try to keep him from contacting her.
Memphis police arrested him on Sunday on an outstanding warrant involving a probation violation. He was then sent him to the Obion County Jail.
He’s currently being held without bond for the murder charge and will be back in court June 11.
