CROSS COUNTY, Ark. — Two fugitives were captured early Tuesday after escaping from the Cross County Jail.

Sheriff David West says Greg Farmer and Austin Dooley were captured around 1:35 a.m. after they were found in a wooded area along County Road 747.

Authorities raced to the area and captured the men after Sgt. Luke Cantrell spotted Farmer and radioed for help.

“I would like to say how proud I am of my administration, deputies , the Wynne Police Department, and the St. Francis County Sheriff’s Department,” West said in a Facebook message.  The Sheriff also thanked the St. Francis County Sheriff’s Department for its assistance.

Gregory Farmer and Austin Dooley escaped early Monday morning. They were assisted by “an outside source,” according to investigators.

The Cross County Sheriff’s Office says Carl Ellis and Stephanie Henderson were arrested in connection with the escape.
