MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A 17-year-old is dead after he was pulled from a pond in the 2700 block of Battle Creek Drive in Raleigh.

The Memphis Fire Department said a Memphis Light, Gas and Water employee was doing routine electrical work when they spotted someone in the pond around 8 a.m. Friday. The teen was pulled from the water and pronounced dead on the scene.

Rosevelt Davis, 17

Police identified the victim as 17-year-old Rosevelt Davis on Saturday. Family on social media said Davis was from California and visiting family in Memphis.

Police had issued a city watch alert for Davis on Thursday.

At this time, it’s unclear if foul play is involved.

This is an ongoing investigation, and Davis’ cause of death is currently undetermined.
