(Memphis) 23-year-old Dexter Cox plead guilty to second-degree murder charges Thursday in the shooting death of Memphis Police Lieutenant Ed Vidulich in 2008.
Cox, who is already serving two life sentences, received an additional 15-year sentence.
Prosecutors said Cox went to Vidulich’s home January 28, 2008 to try and make a deal with the officer to pay him for information regarding a burglary at Vidulich’s home in Frayser.
Cox claims he and Vidulich began arguing about how much he would receive before shooting the veteran police officer in the face twice.
