(Memphis)  Friends, family and fans will come together today and tomorrow to remember longtime Memphis TV and Radio personality Charles Scruggs.

Two visitations will be held today for Scruggs. The first is from Noon until 4 p.m. at R.S. Lewis & Sons Funeral Home on Vance Ave. The second is from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at St. Therese-Little Flower Catholic Church on Jackson Ave. St. Therese-Little Flower will also host Scruggs’ funeral — which is Saturday at 10 a.m.

Scruggs, who died last Friday at the age of 80, was best known for his role as “Mr. Chuck” in a series of children’s programs on WKNO-TV starting in the 1990’s.
Scruggs also worked in Mid-South radio, serving as the first African-American general manager of WDIA Radio. He also worked for a time as a morning show personality here at WREG News Channel 3.
