French Toast Batter
2 whole eggs
1 cup Half & Half
Dash Cinnamon
1 Tablespoon Amaretto
1/2 teaspoon Vanilla
Combine ingredients & whisk together
Preparing the French Toast
Select a Dense/Firm Bread like Brioche, Cinnamon Raisin Bread, Whole Grain or French Bread & cut into 3/4 inch slices
Serve 3 slices per person
Dredge your bread in your French toast batter
Sauté in a skillet or non stick pan until golden brown on each side
Top with Bananas Foster Sauce
Bananas Foster Sauce
Makes 4 servings
1/4 cup butter
2/3 cup dark brown sugar
1 & 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
3 bananas sliced 1/4 inch thick
In a large skillet over medium heat melt butter. Stir in brown sugar, vanilla & cinnamon. When the mixture begins to bubble add bananas to pan and cook until the bananas are hot(about 1 to 2 minutes. Serve at once over your French Toast.
Optional ingredients
3 & 1/2 tablespoons of Rum or Whiskey (added to butter with the sugar)
1/4 cup Toasted walnuts or pecans (added to mixture with the bananas)
