(Memphis)  Investigators with the Memphis Fire Department are looking into a pair of suspicious house fires in Frayser.

The first fire broke out around 11 p.m. Thursday in the 2800 block of Northmeade Dr. near Schoolfield Rd.

The family — two adults and one child — who lived there weren’t home at the time — but firefighters found the bodies of their two dogs inside. The Red Cross is now assisting the family.

The second fire happened just after midnight in the 2200 block of Point Church Rd. near University St.

Just like the first fire, the people who lived in the home weren’t there when the fire started.

Investigators are working to see if there is a connection between the two fires — due to their similarities and their proximity to each other.
