One woman living in the apartments says she hears shootings at least once a week. She says she constantly fears for the lives of her two children.

“We’ve lived here for seven years and it’s definitely gotten worse,” she said. “I have a conceal/carry permit, as does my husband. So, pretty much anytime we leave the house, we carry with us and I don’t let her {their daughter} come outside and play because there is always something going on over here.”

In the past six  months, police have been called to that area more than 50 times for crimes like breaking and entering, theft, and aggravated assault.
