MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police are investigating after a body was found at a Parkway Village apartment complex Monday afternoon.

Family confirmed 81-year-old Curtis Harris’ body was found in a pond near the Ten Mile Creek Apartments off American Way.

On Thursday, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office announced the medical examiner had identified the body as Harris.

Harris was a security guard at the Ten Mile Creek Apartments and was last seen in near American Way and Getwell on Dec. 18. He was last seen leaving for lunch around 8 p.m. that day.

This truck was pulled from a lake near the Ten Mile Creek apartments. A body found in the pond was identified as 81-year-old Curtis Harris.

Police are still investigating this situation, but WREG crews saw damage to a guardrail near the pond.

A truck was pulled from the pond where the body was found, and it seemed to match the description of the blue single cab Dodge Ram that Harris was last seen driving.

Harris’ cause of death is still under investigation.
