(Lynchburg, VA) Four former officials with the Peanut Corporation of America have been indicted in connection with salmonella-tainted products.
The company was a peanut roasting facility that processed peanuts to be sold around the United States.
In 2009, the FDA said the company shipped tainted products it knew tested positive for the bacteria linked to a nationwide outbreak of salmonella poisoning.
