(Fountain Valley, CA) Hyundai Motor is close to settling 38 federal lawsuits accusing the automaker of overstating the fuel economy of its cars.
Hyundai says it will make lump-sum payments to nearly one million owners of cars and SUVs from model years 2011 to 2013.
The amount of the payments will vary based on the vehicle and how much its mileage was overstated.
