(New York City) Couples are spending more money to tie the knot.
According to the wedding website theknot.com, last year, the average wedding cost $28,427.
That’s more than was spent since the start of the economic downturn.
The site says more money is being spent in almost every category, from photographers and DJs to invitations.
Couples in Manhattan spent the most, an average of nearly $77,000.
Alaskans were the most frugal, spending an average of just more than $15,000.
