(Mountain View, CA) Google has agreed to pay $7 million to settle the so-called “wi-spy” scandal.
Three years ago, 37 states and the District of Columbia sued Google after the company revealed its company cars were taking more than street level photos for its online mapping service.
They were also grabbing people’s personal information from unprotected wi-fi networks.
Google is not acknowledging any wrongdoing in the settlement.
