MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis homicide detectives are investigating the death of a child in Frayser and the child’s father was taken in for questioning.
According to authorities, an ambulance was called to North Trezevant Street around 5 a.m. Wednesday after the child stopped breathing. The child was rushed to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital but did not survive.
The distraught father was still on the scene when WREG arrived, yelling inside the police car before being taken downtown for questioning about what happened.
Another woman who was at the home was also detained.
Two other children were also in the home at the time and could be seen talking to investigators.
Police did not say how the toddler died.
