(Memphis) Two Memphis music legends will receive the prestigious Governor’s Award by Governor Bill Haslam and First Lady Crissy Haslam.
News Channel 3 has learned David Porter and Knox Phillips are scheduled to be honored.
The Memphis Film and Television Commission nominated the two.
Both men were cited for helping put Memphis music on a national and global stage.
Porter and Phillips will be honored in a private ceremony April 23rd in the Governor’s mansion in nashvillle.
