(Fayette County, TN) 17-year-old Fayetteville-Ware student Breanna Springfield is in the hospital after family members said she was thrown from a moving car early Tuesday morning.

“Y’all left my sister on the side of the road, for dead, she’s a baby she’s just 17”, said the sister who asked not to be identified.

It was on a rural stretch of Highway 64, east of Somerville where the girl was found. First, 911 calls came in of someone throwing rocks at cars driving by, then more calls of someone laying on the shoulder of the road. It was Springfield, trying to get help.

Family members say the teen was in a strange black car, they didn’t know who it belonged to, but whoever it was, they got angry.

“She tried to get out of the car, they sped up, and they pushed her out”, said Springfield’s sister.

The sheriff’s department is taking it seriously,  at first they didn’t know if the teen would even survive.

“Our detectives are working on possible information on persons of interest that they’ve received”, said Ray Garcia.

Tonight her family is just happy she’s going to pull through.
