(Washington, D.C.) According to a new Pew Research Center report, the rich keep getting richer while the rest of the world become poorer.
It says from 2009 to 2011, the net worth of wealthiest 7% of U.S. households rose 28% while everyone else’s worth dropped 4%.
Pew says that’s because typically wealthy households have stocks and other investments that increased in value, while the less wealthy have more of their assets in their homes, which haven’t fully regained their value since the housing bust.
