(Memphis) Two teens were shot in South East Memphis. The shooting happened at the Aspenwood Square Apartments in the 3200 block of Mendenhall around 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The two boys, both 17, are at the MED in critical condition. Police say they were shot somewhere in their torso region.

Police say a group of teens fired at the two young men. While there were several in the group, police believe there was only one gun involved.

When police arrived at the apartment complex, one teen was on the ground, and the other victim was up the road. Police say he collapsed near the fire station after running for help.

People who live in the area believe this is an ongoing fight between gangs and they say enough is enough.

“A couple weeks ago one gang member got shot. Now these two gang members got shot, but on opposite sides of the gang,” Torrisha Black said. “My kids love to play outside and I’m just really terrified.”

At this point police cannot confirm if this is gang related, but they said they have detained several witnesses. So far no one is in custody.
