MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A former employee accused of firing firing shots outside Barrett Distribution and injuring two people has been arrested.

Christon Triplett

According to authorities, Christon Triplett was involved in an ongoing feud with the victims and reportedly ambushed them in the parking lot on East Holmes Road early Monday morning.

One man was shot four times while the other twice. Both were taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Reports indicate that Triplett had been fired from the company several days ago after waving a gun.

Triplett was located several hours later and charged with attempted first-degree murder, criminal trespass, employment of a firearm and tampering with or fabricating evidence.

Employees told WREG on Monday they were held inside with little information after the shooting. One man said his fiance was supposed to leave work around 4:30 a.m. He had to wait in his car outside for hours before she was allowed to leave around 10 a.m.

According to its website, Barrett is a distribution company that’s been in operation since 1941. It has multiple U.S. locations, including Memphis.
