A man considered to be an activist supporting the civil rights movement passed away.

Will Campbell was one of four people who escorted black students who integrated into the public schools in Little Rock, Ark.

He was also the only white person at the founding of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference alongside Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr..

Campbell died outside of Nashville at the age of 88 after complications from a stroke.
