(Memphis) A 71-year-old man was taken in critical condition to St. Francis Hospital for smoke inhalation after a house in the 1100 block of White Station Road caught fire Wednesday afternoon
The one-story, wood-frame building sustained smoke, fire and water damage.
The total damage estimate is $15,000 for the structure and its contents.
Investigators determined the cause of the fire was careless use of smoking materials in the living room.
The home had a working smoke detector. The fire was under control within ten minutes and was completely gone within 20 minutes.
